What Can I Expect?
The ETHEREA IPL-Sq is a colour correction procedure that has different effects depending on the target. When treating broken capillaries, rosacea and general redness the light rays target the oxyhaemoglobin in the blood vessels, sealing the vessel which clears and reduces their appearance on the skin.
When treating spots or patches of pigment the IPL-Sq’s bursts of light target the darkened areas causing it to heat up and then break down. A process known as photothermolysis then occurs where the treated areas can initially darken as they start to break down and then begin to flake off.
During the procedure clients can feel a heat sensation that varies with the area and energy setting though it is minimal thanks to the IPL-Sq’s adjustable contact cooling system. There may be a mild sunburnt feeling afterwards with some patchy pink areas or redness and no downtime is needed so normal activities can be resumed immediately.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
During your consultation we will establish a treatment plan to best suit your individual needs and concerns. While great improvement can be seen from one session typically three to four treatments spaced two to three weeks apart achieves dramatic results.
You can expect to see some improvement straight away for visible vessels and within a few weeks for background redness whereas the pigment will become progressively lighter with each treatment.
