What to expect from the procedure??
Microneedling is a brief and painless in-office procedure. Upon a patient’s arrival for microneedling, our initial step is to administer numbing cream to the entire area being treated, allowing it to take effect for approximately 15 minutes. Once the patient’s skin is sufficiently numb, we proceed to meticulously cleanse the area and apply a hyaluronic acid-based gel. This gel facilitates smoother movement of the device across the skin’s surface while also seeping into the skin, aiding in accelerated wound healing and resulting in a more rejuvenated and voluminous appearance post-procedure.
The full-face procedure typically lasts for approximately 20 minutes. During the Skin Pen microneedling procedure, the skin surface is treated in three passes. Initially, the passes are made horizontally, followed by vertical passes, and finally a circular motion is employed. While there may be minimal pinpoint bleeding during the procedure, it usually resolves quickly. To maintain moisture, a layer of hyaluronic acid-based gel is applied to the entire face, and the patient is provided with a supply to continue application over the next 24 hours. Immediately after the procedure, the patient may experience redness, resembling a mild sunburn, which typically becomes more prominent the following day. By the second day, most of the redness and peeling subsides, allowing the patient to resume wearing makeup (with the use of sunscreen) as the newly healing skin becomes more vulnerable to sunlight.

However, it is important to note that once the effects of the numbing agent wear off, which typically takes around 1-2 hours, mild discomfort may arise. In such cases, it is recommended to consider over-the-counter pain relief options like paracetamol, if suitable. It is customary to experience a sensation of facial warmth and slight itching following the procedure.
What should I avoid doing after SkinPen Precision Microneedling?
Please ensure that you carefully review the provided aftercare information to ensure optimal outcomes.
